The 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Association of Vietnamese People in Thailand and the 4th congress of the Thai Businessmen Association took place on September 4-5 in Thailand.
At the event, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Head of the State Committee on Overseas Vietnamese Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang expressed her joy with the strong development of the community, the success of overseas Vietnamese in Thailand, and the growing prestige of the community in the local socio-economic life.
The community has become a connecting bridge, elevating the bilateral relationship between Vietnam and Thailand.
They are recognized by local authorities and praised for their hard work, business success as well as the "harmony" of lifestyle and culture with Thai society and people.
The Deputy Minister affirmed that this development is due to the solidarity and tireless efforts of overseas Vietnamese over generations.
The State always considers the Vietnamese community abroad, including the community in Thailand, to be an inseparable part of the great national unity bloc and a resource for national development.
"The fatherland and the Government always miss the compatriots, just like parents miss their children who are away. That's the love of a family."
Le Thi Thu Hang expressed her wish for associations and overseas Vietnamese to preserve the Vietnamese language. On this occasion, Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang awarded certificates of merit from the Head of the State Committee on Overseas Vietnamese Affairs to seven collectives and four outstanding individuals in the community.

The Vietnamese community in Thailand has about 100,000 people, concentrated mainly in the Northeastern provinces. The community has a tradition of revolution, patriotism, reverence for President Ho Chi Minh, and many contributions to the cause of the struggle for national liberation and construction. Overseas Vietnamese in Thailand not only build a stable, strong community and become an important part of the host society but also always look to the homeland, preserving and promoting the traditional values of the Vietnamese people. |
Within the framework of her visit to the Northeast provinces of Thailand from September 4-5, Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang visited Vietnam Town, Khanh An Pagoda, and a Vietnamese language class in Udon Thani province.
The Deputy Minister recognized and appreciated the efforts to preserve the national cultural identity and spread Vietnamese language teaching activities in the area, considering them the most practical contributions to the homeland and the country.
Vietnam Town will be a destination for many tourists, a cultural symbol of the local Vietnamese community, aiming to be a "model" for the Vietnamese community in the world to promote, and spread national identity.
The Deputy Minister expressed her wish that in the coming time, Vietnamese pagodas will continue to be places of religious activities, meeting the spiritual needs of people living abroad.
They are the place to preserve the traditional culture of Vietnam in Thailand, ready to support and connect with training institutions in the country and Buddhist temples in Laos.
She welcomed the idea of the Udon Thani Department of Culture on the project to build a Vietnamese cultural path at Khanh An Pagoda.
She also encouraged the younger generation to learn Vietnamese, promoting the role of associations and families in bringing children to attend classes. This helps to increase attachment to the homeland, preserving and passing on Vietnamese to the next generations.
