The ceremony was attended by members of the VUFO, Vietnam-Slovak Friendship Association and members of the alumni who have been studying in the past at the UEBA.
Speaking at the awarding ceremony, Bui Khac Son, VUFO Vice President emphasised the active contribution of the training cooperation between the UEBA and Vietnam, where the University has trained many generations of international and Vietnamese students over time.
Among them, Michal Kovac, President of the Czech Republic (1993-1998), Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babis, Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue, former Chairman of the State Securities Commission Vu Bang and many high-ranking officials of Slovakia, and CEOs of companies in Slovakia and Europe.
From 1994 to 2007, there were 18 Vietnamese students graduating from the UEBA and from 2008 to 2018, there were 40 students studying in here. In the academic year 2017-2018, there are five Vietnamese students enroll in the bachelor program and the doctoral program each.
Many Vietnamese students, after returning home, have taken many important positions contributing to the state as well as the society.

On behalf of the VUFO, Vice Chairman Bui Khac Son presented the Certificate of Merit to the UEBA for its contribution in training many generations of Vietnamese students - a bridge for promoting the friendship between two countries in many fields including the people-to-people external relations.
Rector of the UEBA Prof. Ferdinand Daňo, on behalf of the university, thanked the VUFO and the Vietnam-Slovakia Friendship Association for the honorable recognition, adding that the UEBA will always assist and cooperate with relevant Vietnamese agencies in training human resources for Vietnam as well as strengthening training cooperation relations between Vietnam and the university in the near future./.
