Speaking at the ceremony, Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Nga, president of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) emphasized that the Vietnamese people always remember the valuable help of the Finnish government and people for Vietnam during the years of struggle for national independence and reunification.
According to Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Nga, over the past 50 years, the longstanding friendship between the two countries has continuously developed and deepened in many fields such as economy, trade, education, high technology, innovation, entrepreneurship, clean water, clean energy and people-to-people exchanges.

Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Nga emphasized that, during his tenure in Vietnam, with experience and enthusiasm, Ambassador Kari Kahiluoto has made important contributions to strengthening and promoting the traditional friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Finland, leaving good impressions in the hearts of Vietnamese people.
Ambassador Kari Kahiluoto has actively expanded relations, enhanced mutual understanding between the Communist Party of Vietnam and Finnish political parties, supported the cooperation between localities of the two countries and implemented many projects in the community, including the opening and enrollment of the Vietnam - Finland International School and the implementation of the Talent Boost program to attract many young Vietnamese people to study and work in Finland.
"We cherish and will forever remember the memories of the activities that the Ambassador organized on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Finland and many other activities such as planting friendship trees," Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Nga said.
VUFO President Nguyen Phuong Nga also expressed her belief that in any position, the Ambassador still makes positive contributions to strengthening and further developing the traditional friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Finland.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ambassador Kari Kahiluoto expressed his sincere thanks to the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations and the Vietnam - Finland Friendship Association for always supporting and assisting the Ambassador during his working term in Vietnam. He said that Finland and Vietnam both attach great importance to international cooperation activities and promote people-to-people exchanges between the two countries, thanks to two friendship associations: the Finland-Vietnam Friendship Association in Finland and the Vietnam - Finland Friendship Association in Vietnam.
Ambassador Kari Kahiluoto affirmed that in any position, he will always make efforts to promote the two countries' relations and the people-to-people relations between Vietnam and Finland.
