At the reception, Phan Anh Son congratulated Khamphao Ernthavanh on her appointment as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Lao People's Democratic Republic to Viet Nam. He believes that the Ambassador's significant work experience and capacity will enable her to effectively fulfill her responsibilities, thus actively contributing to the consolidation and development of Viet Nam-Laos' great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation.
Phan Anh Son introduced the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizaitons' organizational structure, functions, tasks, and activities, stating that the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations is a sociopolitical organization that specializes in people-to-people diplomacy in the fields of peace, solidarity, friendship, and people-to-people cooperation. The Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organization plays a vital role in people-to-people diplomacy and foreign non-governmental activities; serves as a foreign political organization and a part of Viet Nam's specialist foreign affairs force.

"In recent times, the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations has proactively coordinated with Lao partners in bilateral cooperation as well as in multilateral forums and mechanisms," said Phan Anh Son.
According to him, in the upcoming time, it is necessary for the two sides to exchange ideas and coordinate to promote the Viet Nam-Laos people's cooperation to develop in a more substantive, practical, and effective way.
Ambassador Khamphao Ernthavanh expressed gratitude for the invaluable support given by the Vietnamese Party, State, and People to the Lao Party, State, and People over the past time. As the Ambassador of Laos to Viet Nam, she will do her best to fulfill the responsibilities set by the Party, State, and People of Laos.
Ambassador Khamphao Ernthavanh also proposed that the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations share its experience in organizing, developing, and researching people-to-people diplomacy activities.
