In 2023, the two countries held diverse activities to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the attack on Fort Moncada by the Cuban people and the 50th anniversary of Cuban Leader Fidel Castro's visit to the Liberated Zone of Southern Viet Nam. The events have attracted the attention of a large number of people. ICAP President thanked the Government and people of Viet Nam for always supporting Cuba during difficult times.
In 2024, ICAP will organize important events such as the Asia-Pacific Conference of Solidarity with Cuba, the Cuba - Viet Nam Friendship, Cooperation and Solidarity Conference. ICAP hopes to receive the support and participation of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations.
Phan Anh Son, President of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations said: In 2020, the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations and the Viet Nam - Cuba Friendship Association signed a Friendship and Cooperation Agreement for the 2020-2025 period with the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples and the Cuba - Viet Nam Friendship Association. In the coming time, VUFO will organize conferences and seminars to share information about the country and people of Cuba, for Vietnamese people. Through such events, it is expected that the young Vietnamese generation gain more understanding and affection for the country and people of Cuba.
