Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Dao Cuong affirmed that Vietnam always attaches importance to and wishes to further strengthen the friendship and comprehensive partnership with Brazil, especially in the field of culture and sports.
During the Ambassador's term, the Deputy Minister wished that the Ambassador would promote cultural and sports cooperation between the two countries.
Speaking at the meeting, Brazilian Ambassador Marco Farani expressed his impression of a dynamic and fast-growing Vietnam in all fields as well as open and friendly Vietnamese people.
The Ambassador said that the new Brazilian government attaches great importance to the role of culture and sport in promoting the development of diplomatic relations between the two countries. Therefore, during his term, the Ambassador has high expectations to carry out high-level visits and activities in culture and sports, in order to deepen the cooperation between Vietnam and Brazil.
The Brazilian Ambassador also proposed cultural cooperation activities and hoped to receive support from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. The typical activities are the concert of the famous Brazilian pianist at the Vietnam National Academy of Music, the exhibition of Brazilian paintings at the Hanoi Museum, as well as the plan to invite a group of famous Brazilian Samba artists to Vietnam to perform in 2024 on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Regarding sports, in response to the love of Vietnamese fans for Brazilian football, the Ambassador said that he will cooperate with relevant parties to bring the country's football team to compete in Vietnam.
On the basis of the agreement on cultural cooperation between the Governments of Vietnam and Brazil, Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong proposed that the two sides should strengthen the exchange of delegations at all levels, and art exchange.
The Deputy Minister especially emphasized that on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Brazil (1989-2024), the two countries could research and organize a series of cultural events. The two countries consider this an opportunity to further tighten friendship enhance understanding and people-to-people exchanges. Programs that can be organized include art performances, exhibitions, and film screenings.

Regarding sports, the Deputy Minister shared that Vietnam is one of the countries where people have a great love for football. Every time the Vietnamese team competes to win, people flock to the streets like a festival to cheer and celebrate the victory
The Deputy Minister affirmed that the Brazilian national team is the favorite team of many Vietnamese fans. If the Ambassador can bring the Brazilian football team to play in Vietnam, the event will be special for the fans. It contributes a highlight to Vietnam-Brazil cooperation and friendship.
