On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Australia, on May 31, the Hanoi's Vietnam - Australia Friendship Association, the Hanoi College of Commerce and Tourism in collaboration with the Hanoi Culinary - Tourism and Fashion Vocational School organizes a Vietnam - Australia Friendship Cultural and Culinary Festival, NDO reported.
The event was attended by Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen and Australian Ambassador to Vietnam Andrew Goledzinowski.
Speaking at the festival, the Director of the Department of Education and Training, Chairman of the Hanoi's Vietnam - Australia Friendship Association, Tran The Cuong said that in 2023, Vietnam and Australia are actively coordinating to prepare activities to mark the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Australia - Vietnam diplomatic relations and the 5th anniversary of the establishment of a strategic partnership.
On this occasion, the Union of Trade, Tourism and Fashion Associations was launched. Cuong affirmed that the establishment and launch of the Union of Trade, Tourism and Fashion Associations is a testament to the positive results of the Hanoi's Vietnam - Australia Friendship Association, in the past time, contributing to expanding the membership scale, strengthening and enriching the activities of the Association in 2023 and the coming years.
The Chairman of the Hanoi's Vietnam - Australia Friendship Association expressed his hope that the union would have practical activities, opening up opportunities for cooperation in the fields of training, especially vocational training, trade, tourism and fashion, between Vietnam and Australia.
Dr. Trinh Thi Thu Ha, deputy rector of Hanoi College of Commerce and Tourism, emphasised that the occasion marks the 50th anniversary since the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two sides, as well as contributing to linking the Vietnamese business community with Australian organisations and businesses. This is along with promoting linkages in the field of education and training between the two countries.

At the festival, participants enjoyed excellent performances showcasing Vietnam’s unique culture, visited booths introducing culinary products and a painting exhibition by painter Nguyen Thu Thuy, the author of the project "Hanoi Ceramic Road", as well as viewing rare ceramic products belonging to the Bat Trang Ceramics Museum.
The Vietnam - Australia Food and Culture Festival 2023 aims to introduce the typical culture and cuisine of the two countries, and create opportunities for exchanges between Vietnam - Australia friendship branches and the Australian Embassy and the Australian business community in Vietnam.
The festival also contributes to strengthening the friendship and understanding of culture, tourism and cuisine between the two countries.
