Attending the meeting were Mr. Vu Xuan Hong, VUFO President; Mr. Pham Tat Dong, Chairman of the Vietnam – DPR Korea Friendship Association; Mr. Kim Chang Il, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the DPRK to Vietnam; representatives of the Vietnam Communist Party Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs; representative from relevant agencies, enterprises which have cooperation relations with the DPRK.
The foundation of the DPRK on September 9, 1948 was a brilliant result of the durable and heroic struggle of the Korean people under the leadership of President Kim Il Sung. This event is of great significance, opening a new phase in the history of the DPRK . For the past 65 years, the DPRK people have gained admirable achievements in the national construction and defense. Facing the region’s and world’s complicated situations, the DPRK Party and State have gradually led the country to deal with difficulties and challenges, making new changes in socio-economic development.
Addressing at the meeting, Ambassador Kim Chang Il said the DPRK people are doing their best to make a breakthrough in the development of economy and improvement of people’s lives. Therefore, DPRK earnestly need a peaceful and stable environment and is doing the best for peace, stability and security in the region.
Chairman Pham Tat Dong expressed his delight at the achievements gained by the DPRK people over the past years, and affirmed the consistent support for the cause of socialism building and national reunification of the DPRK people for peace, stability and non-nuclearization on the peninsula.
Mr. Pham Tat Dong and Ambassador Kim Chang Il both affirmed their beliefs in a bright prospect of friendship and cooperation relation between Vietnam and the DPRK. The two Parties and States will further strengthen cooperation in the spirit of comradeship and fraternity for prosperity and happiness of the two countries and peoples and for peace and stability in the region.
Along with the development of relation between the two Parties and States, activities of friendship exchange between the people organizations of the two countries have been incessantly strengthened and effectively implemented. The Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations, the Vietnam – DPR Korea Friendship Association, the DPRK Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries and the DPR Korea – Vietnam Friendship Association have constantly promoted people-to-people activities and cultural exchange, serving as a bridge for economic and trade cooperation, contributing to the enhancement of solidarity and friendship between the two peoples.
The meeting concluded with songs and music performed by teachers and children of the Vietnam – DPRK Kindergarten – a symbol of friendship between Vietnam and DPRK. The folk songs of Vietnam and DPRK, and the songs praising President Ho Chi Minh and President Kim Il Sung brought along an atmosphere imbued with Vietnam – DPRK friendship.
