Commemorating the 66th Independent Day of the DPR Korea
The Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO), the Vietnam - DPR Korea Friendship Association and the Vietnam Committee Supporting Peace and Unification of Korea have jointly held a meeting on Sept. 4 in Hanoi to celebrate the 66th Independence Day of the DPR Korea (September 9, 1948 – September 9, 2014).
VUFO’s President Vu Xuan Hong, Chairman of the Vietnam-DPR Korea Friendship Association Pham Tat Dong, Mr. Kim Chang In, Ambassador of DPR Korea to Vietnam and representatives from the Commision for External Relations of the Communist Party of Vietnam’s Central Committee, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Vietnam-DPR Korea Club attended the ceremony.
Mr. Pham Tat Dong expressed his warm congratulations to the people of DPR Korea on the 66th Independence Day and wished the Korean people, under the leadership of the Korean Workers' Party, led by Chairman Kim Jong-un, would make new and greater achievements in the cause of national construction, defence and unification and contribution to peace, stability, cooperation and development in the Asia - Pacific region and all over the world.
“Vietnam always attaches importance to traditional bonds in friendship with DPR Korea. In recent years, the bilateral relations have seen consistent developments while friendly people-to-people activities, contributing largely to strengthening solidarity and friendship between the countries’ peoples”, said Dong.
Ambassador Kim Chang In expressed his thanks to VUFO, the Vietnam-DPR Korea Friendship Association and the Vietnam Committee Supporting Peace and Unification of Korea for organizing the solemn celebration. The Ambassador also briefed the attendants on recent DPR Korea’s achievements in economic development and improvement of people's lives, the rise of local civil construction, etc.
The Ambassador highly appreciated Vietnam’s foreign policy safeguarding its national autonomy and security and pusuing peaceful settlement of disputes. He said that Vietnam - DPR Korea relations have witnessed new development, converging good conditions for consolidating in politics, economics and other fields. The Ambassador expected the two countries to continue to strengthen cooperation in conformity with the interests of the two peoples, for peace and sustainable stability in the region.
Taking this opportunity, Ambassador Kim Chang In sent warm congratulations to Vietnam’s Communist Party, state leaders and Vietnamese people on the country’s 69th National Day and wished Vietnam to get greater achievements in the cause of the nation’s construction.
