Marking Cuba’s assault on Moncada Barracks in Tuyen Quang province
The Vietnam – Cuba Friendship Association held a friendship meeting on July 25 in the northern province of Tuyen Quang to mark the 61st anniversary of the assault on Cuba’s Moncada Barracks (July 26, 1953 – July 26, 2014).
Mrs. Vu Thi Bich Viet, Vice Chairwoman of Tuyen Quang People’s Committee, President of Tuyen Quang Union of Friendship Organizations said it was honour for the province to host the event and expressed hope that the traditional friendship between the two countries will be more consolidated and developed.
Mrs. Liurka Rodriguez Barrios, Chargé Affaires of the Cuban Embassy and who led the Cuban delegation, affirmed that the Vietnam – Cuba friendship relation has been developing over the years and that the two brother countries share both success and obstacles. She extended congratulations to Tuyen Quang province for its socio-economic achievements and believed the provincial government and people would achieve more success.
The delegation of the Cuban Embassy and the Vietnam – Cuba Friendship Association, led by Vice Presidents Mr.Nguyen Duy Cuong and Mr. Pham Tien Tu, also paid a visit to Tan Trao national historical relics and Tuyen Quang Museum. Representatives from the central and local external relation offices and Cuban experts living in Hanoi also attended the event.
