The Viet Nam - Hungary Friendship Association of Hanoi on September 14 in Hanoi held its 5th congress for the 2024-2029 term.
According to the report at the congress, in the 2024-2029 term, the association will focus on promoting key activities such as organizational work, peace activities, solidarity, friendship and foreign reception, information promotion. Thereby, continuing to promote the role of a bridge in economic, cultural, sports, tourism cooperation between Viet Nam and Hungary as well as between Hanoi and Budapest.

Speaking at the congress, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary to Viet Nam Baloghdi Tibor said that the traditional friendship between Hungary and Viet Nam with a history of 74 years nurtured by many generations is constantly being consolidated and developed well.
He believes that the association will continue to respond and participate more actively when Hungary and Viet Nam celebrate the 75th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations in 2025 to contribute to the success of the commemorative activities, as well as continue to enhance mutual understanding between the Hungarian and Vietnamese people.

Vice President of the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations (HAUFO) Nguyen Nam Hai said that the association and its member associations have been creative, innovative, and flexible in both content and methods of operation to achieve many remarkable results.
He hopes that in the coming time, the association will continue to achieve many successes, making worthy contributions to the socio-economic development of the capital. At the same time, it will contribute to promoting increasingly good relations between Viet Nam and Hungary.
The congress elected the Executive Committee of Hanoi's Viet Nam - Hungary Friendship Association for the 2024-2029 term, consisting of 35 members. Dang Vu Nhat Thang was re-elected Chairman of the association for the 5th term.
The Hanoi's Viet Nam - Hungary Friendship Association was established in August 2003. The association is tasked with developing friendly and cooperative relations, carrying out peace, solidarity, and friendly activities between the people of Hanoi and the people of Budapest in order to expand and strengthen the people's foreign affairs of the Party and State in Hanoi.
The association's member branches include Viet Nam - Hungary Branch in Tay Ho District, Son Tay Town and Viet Nam - Hungary University of Industry. The branches have participated in and organized many exchange activities; and visited and worked in Hungary to discuss cooperation in many fields, connecting overseas Vietnamese.
