Participants attending the Congress were Phan Văn Mãi, Member of the Central Party Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Bến Tre Party Committee; Nguyễn Hữu Phước, Provincial Committee Member, Vice Chairman of Bến Tre People’s Committee; Jeong Woo Jiu, Deputy Consul General of Korea in Ho Chi Minh City, the Southern Office of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations; the Vietnam – South Korea Friendship Association and Bến Tre province’s departments.
At the Congress, Phan Văn Mãi announced the decision of the People’s Committee of Bến Tre province about the establishment of the Vietnam – South Korea Friendship Association of Bến Tre. The mission of the Association during the tenure is to strengthen the advocacy of overseas Koreans and Korean businesses to invest in economic development, participate in social charity work, consolidate organizational structure, increase the number of members and establishment of branches in the districts and departments.
For his part, Jeong Woo Jiu wishes that the establishment of the Vietnam – Korea Friendship Association of Bến Tre would contribute to fostering a fruitful traditional relationship between the two countries as well as Bến Tre Province. The Association would act as a bridge between the Bến Tre province and the Korean to further strengthen the extensive bilateral partnership, especially in the fields of trade, economy, culture, education...
