The World Peace Council (WPC) and member organizations worldwide express their sadness at the passing of the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam Nguyen Phu Trong. They mourn the extraordinary leader who devoted his life to the happiness and benefit of the people.
Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong has stood firmly at the forefront of the revolutionary cause with many high-level responsibilities, always dedicated to the Party's decisions, always fighting for the interests of the Vietnamese people both domestically and internationally. More than 60 years of dedication to the Party until the last days of his life, he became a humble example of a soldier devoted to principles, said the WPC.
"With close sentiment and sympathy with the heroic Vietnamese people, WPC would like to send our condolences to the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Viet Nam, the ministries and agencies of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam and partners: the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations, the Viet Nam Peace Committee, and the Viet Nam Peace and Development Foundation.
WPC and following generations who fight for peace will always remember comrade Nguyen Phu Trong as an excellent and genuine patriot and international activist," WPC's condolence message read.

In a condolence letter to Phan Anh Son, President of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations and Vu Hai Ha, President of the Viet Nam- Cuba Friendship Association, Fernando González Llort, President of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) expressed condolences upon the passing of a beloved friend and outstanding leader - General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.
"We will always remember our special friend Nguyen Phu Trong, who during his visits to Cuba met with the leaders of the Cuba - Viet Nam Friendship Association and ICAP as a genuine model of brotherly relations between the two peoples.
His ideals and teachings as a political leader will be a guideline for the actions of the Communist Party of Viet Nam and in other countries, because their political importance and clarity are beneficial for humanity's development," said Fernando González Llort.
The Association of Korean People Loving Viet Nam(VESAMO) has expressed its sorrow upon hearing of the passing of Nguyen Phu Trong, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Viet Nam.
"All members of VESAMO extend their deepest condolences to the Viet Nam-Korea Friendship Association and the people of Viet Nam. We will always cherish the heartfelt sentiments that the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Viet Nam held towards South Korea, as well as his significant contributions to fortifying and enhancing the friendship between the peoples of South Korea and Viet Nam, with South Korea being regarded as Viet Nam's closest friend, as stated in VESAMO's letter of condolence.
In a message to the Viet Nam- Brazil Friendship and Cooperation Association (VBFCA), Inácio Arruda, President of the Brazil - Viet Nam Friendship Association (ABRAVIET), stated: "We recognize the significant contributions of comrade Nguyen Phu Trong in strengthening socialism in Viet Nam and his relentless commitment to the well-being of the Vietnamese people. His visionary leadership and dedication to the country's socio-economic development have left an inspiring legacy for us all."

In a letter to the Viet Nam - Malaysia Friendship Association, Tran Thi Chang, President of the Malaysia - Viet Nam Friendship Association, expressed: "This loss is not only a profound sorrow for the family, friends, and comrades of comrade Nguyen Phu Trong, but also a significant loss for both the Vietnamese people and the international community."

The recent meetings between General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and Malaysian representatives remain memorable, particularly the latest one in July 2023 in Hanoi. During this meeting, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong warmly received Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and the high-ranking Malaysian delegation on their official visit to Viet Nam, marking the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations (1973-2023). This significant event has greatly contributed to enhancing bilateral cooperation, fostering development opportunities, and reinforcing the friendship between Malaysia and Viet Nam. These encounters have not only solidified the bond and collaborative spirit between the countries but have also left a lasting impression of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's genuine warmth and commitment to cooperation and progress.

Simeon Dimchev, President of the Bulgaria-Viet Nam Friendship Association, expressed profound sorrow and regret upon learning of the death of Viet Nam's respected General Secretary, Nguyen Phu Trong.
"In times of remembrance, following the passing of an individual, we reflect on the past and recognize the numerous achievements made under his guidance for Hanoi as the First Secretary of the City Party Committee, and for Viet Nam as the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Viet Nam."
Under his guidance, the country has experienced rapid economic development. Viet Nam has become a respected member of international organizations such as the United Nations, WTO, and ASEAN. Viet Nam has signed significant free trade agreements with entities such as the European Union, the United States, and major nations, earning global recognition as a respected and trustworthy country. His strategic approach to Viet Nam's foreign policy, often referred to as "bamboo diplomacy," embodies the principle of "more friends, fewer enemies." The President of the Bulgaria-Viet Nam Friendship Association noted, "For many years, he has been actively fostering the friendship and cooperation between our two nations."

In a letter of condolences, Sim Chy, President of the Khmer - Viet Nam Association in Cambodia, said: Receiving the sad news from the Embassy of Viet Nam in Cambodia, the Vietnamese community in Cambodia was shocked and deeply saddened.
He stated: "With every visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia, the General Secretary consistently shows concern for and visits the people of Vietnamese origin, encouraging them to live in unity and mutual affection. He reminds them to actively contribute to the development of the local area while also contributing to the construction of their homeland. Regardless of where they are or what they do, they should always remember their Vietnamese identity."
He reminisced about the time he met the General Secretary in Hanoi: "The General Secretary tenderly placed his hand on my shoulder and kindly advised, 'Chy, in the foreign country you should try to assist people of Vietnamese descent to lead better lives and foster unity. Help one another, disseminate and urge compliance with Cambodian laws, respect Khmer traditions, live harmoniously with other communities, and encourage children to learn both Khmer and Vietnamese.' His words is the guiding light; his affection is a powerful incentive for us to give our all, to aspire for betterment in life, and to contribute to the enduring friendship between the Vietnamese and Cambodian peoples."
Foreign non-governmental organizations such as Bright Future, AWSOM, Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Viet Nam, Konrad - Adenauer - Stiftung Viet Nam(KAS)... also expressed their condolences with General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's family, Vietnamese partners, colleagues and friends.
