In a statement sent to the Vietnamese Embassy in Ukraine, the Vietnam Veterans Association, Vietnam Association for Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin in Vietnam and the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations has show its support for Vietnamese in a case against sveral multinational chemical corporations.

“The All Ukrainian Union of War Veterans organizes veterans of World War II, local wars, Ukrainian peacekeepers and those engaged in counter-terrorism. The union has represented Ukraine in the World Veterans Federation for more than 27 years," the statement said. "The International Federation of Resistance Fighters and Soldiers of Peace International Association effectively cooperates with the Vietnam Veterans Association in Ukraine, led by Nguyen Van Loan."

"Today, we reaffirm our solidarity in the lawsuit filed by Tran To Nga and the Vietnamese victims against the chemical companies that produced Agent Orange/dioxin during the Vietnam War. Hundreds of thousands of tons of Agent Orange/dioxin were sprayed on Vietnam by U.S. aircraft and left heavy consequences for the Vietnamese people.”

The declaration of the All Ukrainian Union of War Veterans shows the concern of Ukrainian veterans for the Vietnamese Agent Orange/dioxin victims, as well as international solidarity of the two peoples.

Nguyen Van Loan, president of the Vietnam Veterans Association in Ukraine, has been following information on the lawsuit of Tran To Ngaand all the Vietnamese Agent Orange victims against 14 multinational chemical corporations in the Vietnam Times and other international media.

"The All Ukrainian Union of War Veterans, a friend of the Vietnam Veterans Association in Ukraine realizes that the judgment of a court in Paris once again ignores millions of Vietnamese people," Nguyen Van Loan said "The people so far are still suffering the heavy consequences of the chemical warfare carried out by the U.S. military during the Vietnam war. Therefore, the All Ukrainian Union of War Veterans has voiced its support for the Vietnamese Agent Orange victims."

Currently,, there are 518 former military advisors and experts in the All Ukrainian Union of War Veterans who have helped Vietnam during the war. Events organized by the embassy and Association of Vietnam veterans in Ukraine invite representatives of former members to attend, and gifts are sent to them on solemn holidays.
