Attending the meeting were Politburo member, President of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics (HCMA) and Chairman of the Central Theory Council Nguyen Xuan Thang, Ambassador of Vietnam to the Russian Federation Dang Minh Khoi, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Vietnam-Russia Friendship Parliamentarians' Group, representatives of branches and members of the Vietnam-Russia Friendship Association.

Speaking at the meeting, Nguyen Xuan Thang said that the Vietnamese Party, State, and people are always grateful for the great support and help of the former Soviet Union and the Russian Federation for Vietnam during the struggle for national independence and reunification as well as in the present day national construction and defense.
He emphasized the need to cherish, preserve and deepen the faithful and transparent friendship between Vietnam and Russia.
He expressed his belief that the Vietnam-Russia Friendship Association will continue to work closely with the Russia-Vietnam Friendship Association and other people's organizations of the two countries.
This is to promote the role of a bridge of friendship, contributing to bringing the Vietnam-Russia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership to new heights. It brings practical benefits to the two peoples, contributing to peace, stability, and development in the region and the world.

He emphasized the important role of friendship organizations of the two countries in consolidating and developing Vietnam-Russia relations.
