Tran Van Tuy, President of the Viet Nam - Laos Friendship Association meets Secretary General, President of Laos
At the reception, Lao People's Revolutionary Party Secretary General anh President of Laos Bounnhang Vorachith expressed his pleasure to welcome the Vietnamese delegation and jointly celebrate the Viet Nam - Laos friendship that has been passed from generation to generations.
He highly appreciated the various brilliant activities held by the Laos - Viet Nam and Viet Nam - Laos friendship associations which reflected the beautiful friendship between two countries.
The Laos leader also stressed the importance of educating the peoples of the two countries, especially the youth, on the long-standing friendship between Laos and Viet Nam.
"The distinguished solidarity between Laos and Viet Nam is reflected in our close ties during resistance not only war time, but also in today’s relations. The sentiment of the two sides for each other remains unchanged and even becomes stronger over time” he affirmed.
Tran Van Tuy, President of the Viet Nam - Laos Friendship Association, for his part, thanked the Lao Party, State and people for the warm welcome for the Vietnamese delegation in recent days.
Tuy briefed the activities conducted by the Viet Nam - Laos Friendship Association. He stressed the distinctive attention and support from the State and Government of Viet Nam for the Viet - Laos Association. The Viet Nam - Laos Friendship Association as well as the Vietnamese people take consideration of the propaganda and education for all classes in society, especially the young people, on the tradition of bilateral relations.
The association has organized a variety of practical activities which helps increase understandings on the distinguished friendship between Viet Nam and Laos, such as organizing writing contest, seminars, workshop; publishing and promoting books written by the two countries' parties to the people; introducing special editions, poetry collections....
Besides, the association also has launched the Revolutionary travel itinerary "Following the footsteps of President Kaysone Phomvihane", "Following Uncle Ho's footstep",... Particularly, friendship exchange activities in culture, sports and arts performance have been widely conducted for Vietnamese officers, students, and Laos students studying in Viet Nam. One of these meaningful activities is the Red Tours which take visitors to various revolutionary vestiges in two countries. In addition, the association has also paid attention to Lao students’ living and studying, facilitated their adaptation to Vietnamese host family.
The two Associations have conducted visiting tours to old battlefield for former Vietnamese experts and volunteer soldiers in Laos, as well as visiting trip to Viet Nam for the Lao people who helped to protect Vietnamese volunteer soldiers in war time.
Furthermore, the two Associations have jointly held numerous exchanges, meetings and talks on the traditional relations between the two countries, which brought the two peoples becoming closer and mutual standing.
"We always receive the attention and guideline from the Party and State's leaders of the two countries in every activity we conduct. At the moment, we would like to maintain the close coordination with the Laos – Viet Nam Friendship Association, and do our best to contribute to the distinctive relationship between Viet Nam and Laos, especially the inseparable ties, to keep the fire of traditional friendship burning strongly.” Tuy affirmed.
At the end of the meeting, Secretary General Bounnhang Vorachith noted various outstanding results achieved by the two Associations. This is a very important contribution to further deepening the friendship, solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Laos and Viet Nam, he shared.
Based on the achievements in the past, the two countries should further foster the relationships and cooperation in defense and security as well as in social-economic development. In terms of political ties, the two Parties, States and peoples will enhance exchange activities and mutual standing to ensure more effective cooperation between the two countries, the Lao leader said.
On the occassion, General Secretary Bounnhang Vorachith also expressed his gratitude and respect to Vietnamese military officers, volunteer soldiers and experts who have stood by Laos in both war time and peace time. He hoped that the two countries will keep nourishing the inherent friendship legacy and he invited former Vietnamese experts and volunteers to visit Laos in near future.
