Uong Chu Luu, Chairman of Viet Nam - Cambodia Parliamentary Friendship Group and Vu Mao, President of Viet Nam - Cambodia Friendship Association, signed a co-ordinating program.
Participants in the ceremony included Uong Chu Luu, Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, Chairman of the Viet Nam - Cambodia Parliamentary Friendship Group; Nguyen Nhan Chien, Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Head of National Assembly delegation of Bac Ninh province; Vu Mao, former Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party, former Chairman of the National Assembly's External Relations Committee, President of the Viet Nam - Cambodia Friendship Association; Nguyen Van Hung, Vice Chairman of Viet Nam - Cambodia Friendship Association, the Board of Directors of Phoenix International Tourism Development Company; Vu Hai Ha, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly’s External Relations Committee and Representative of Cambodian Embassy in Vietnam.
Viet Nam and Cambodia are neighboring countries with long-standing relations. To implement the policy of the Party and State on strengthening the external activities of the National Assembly in the diplomatic affairs of Parliament and the work of the people – to – people diplomacy, the Viet Nam - Cambodia Friendship Parliamentary Group and the Viet Nam – Cambodia Friendship Association carried on a joint program with key contents such as disseminating and popularizing among all classes of people about the longstanding friendship between the two peoples, the foreign policy, the contents of agreements, treaties and cooperation agreements signed between the National Assembly and the Governments of the two countries; Promoting exchange activities between the two localities to educate the cultural traditions for the young generations; Exchanging relevant information about Overseas Vietnamese; Improving investment promotion activities of Vietnamese enterprises into Cambodia.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Uong Chu Luu, Vice chairman of the National Assembly, highly appreciated the initiatives of the Viet Nam - Cambodia Friendship Association Central Committee and the Viet Nam - Cambodia Parliamentary Friendship Group to strengthen traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, lasting durable relationship between the two countries, which is an invaluable asset of the two nations. The close coordination between the Viet Nam - Cambodia Friendship Association and the Viet Nam - Cambodia Parliamentary Friendship Group in promoting the diplomatic program of the Parliament and the people – to - people diplomacy to foster friendship between the two nations in the complicated and unpredictable situation in the world and the region.
President Vu Mao hopes that signing a joint program between 2017-2021 between the Viet Nam - Cambodia Friendship Association and the Viet Nam - Cambodia Parliamentary Friendship Group will promote the friendship between Viet Nam and Cambodia in general and the people of the two countries in particular.
