Viet Nam, India look to stronger friendship and cooperation
Don Tuan Phong, Vice President cum Secretary General of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) pledged to develop the Viet Nam – India relations in a more substantive in the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for cooperationfor the 2017 - 2022 between VUFO and the Indian Society for Cultural Co-operation and Friendship (ISCUF).
VUFO Vice President cum Secretary General Don Tuan Phong and ISCUF Secretary General Bijay Kumar Padhihari signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation for the 2017-2022 with a view to enhancing exchange and mutual understanding between the Vietnamese and Indian people. The document is also hoped to further promote cooperation in various fields.
Firstly, the two sides will recommend the two Governments to commend and reward notable titles organizations and individuals for their contributions to enhancing exchange, friendship and cooperation between the two countries’ people.
Secondly, they will also work together to organize seminars, forums, fairs, and visits of business delegations; provide the two sides’ enterprises with information about each other’s business enviroment; introduce attractive tourism sites of the two nations; and suggest relevant authorities of both sides consider establishing bonds among their localities.
Thirdly, they will enhance the role as a bridge of supporting the media program exchange and introducing the sightseeings of the two countries to contribute mutual tourisms; recommend the agencies to jointly organize cultural exchange activities and consider the possibility of establishment of relations and cooperation between the two’s capitals and localities.
Fourthly, the two will promote information and people – to – people exchange.
Speaking at the ceremony, Phong said that the bilateral relations have developed after establishing a strategic partnership in July 2007 in various fields including politics, economics, defense, culture and education.
The MoU not only concretized the aspirations of the two sides but also affirmed the importance of promoting the traditional friendship between Viet Nam and India.
ISCUF Secretary General Bijay Kumar Padhihari believed that the culture’s each country made great contribution to cultural heritage of mankind. Cultural cooperation will help to maintain peace and friendship among countries in the world. He affirmed Indian and Vietnamese people jointly work to build mutual friendship, cooperation, peace and development.
