The Party, State and people of the two countries pledged to strengthen bilateral relations.
“The Viet Nam – Laos revolutionary historical relic site” was inaugurated in Son La province on July 6th in the presence of Vietnamese National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan and her Laos counterpart Pany Yathotou.
The Viet Nam – Laos revolutionary historical relic site in Lao Kho village, Phieng Khoai commune, Yen Chau district, Son La province was the place where Lao President Kaysone Phomvihane chose to build a base for the Lao revolution against French colonialists.
Chairwoman Ngan thanked the people and ethnic minorities in Son La province for effective assistance in the cause of national liberation, defense and promoting Viet Nam – Laos relation.
Over the past eight decades, the long-live relationship between the two countries has been fostered by the two President Ho Chi Minh and Kaysone Phomvihane and nurtured by leaders’ generations of the two Parties, States and peoples, which has become precious sentiment between the two nations, she said.
Chairwoman of the Lao National Assembly Pany Yathotou said the relic site is a vivid demonstration of the combat solidarity between the two countries in general, and Son La and northern Lao provinces in particular, in the struggle against invaders to defend the country.
The relic site will be a valuable source of historical lessons to educate young generations in the tradition of patriotism and the special solidarity of the two countries.
Although the situation in the region and in the world continues to occur rapidly, complicatedly and unpredictably, together with hostile forces’ tactics, the two countries have to work together and preserve this relationship, she said.
Yathotou wishes to actively promote mutually beneficial and ever-growing ties to bring greater prosperity to both countries in the development of the region and the world.
After the inauguration, the two National Assembly Chairwomen presented gifts to Lao Khong Kindergarten School, Lao Kha Primary School and the family of Trang Lao Lu (Yen Chau, Son La).
Previously, Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan paid a visit and presented 30 computers to the teachers and students in Phung Khoai Secondary School (Phieng Khoai Commune, Yen Chau district, Son La Province).
