At the reception, Don Tuan Phong, welcomed the visit to Viet Nam of IGE delegation. He expressed his wish to exchange views with relevant agencies and pay fact-finding visits some localities to help the delegation understand more about religious freedom in Viet Nam.

The two sides also discussed the continuity of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Viet Nam - US Society for the period 2017-2022 in Washington D.C in the coming time to tighten the partnership, promote mutual understanding through exchange channels, seminars and community relations. In the past, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed in November 2012, in Hanoi.
IGE has built relationships with Viet Nam over the past 15 years, and IGE and the Viet Nam - US Society have held numerous talks and collaborative activities to provide the American public and politics better understanding about Viet Nam’s the religious situation.
The VUFO currently maintains the track 2 Human Rights Dialogue to enhance understanding of issues such as democracy and religious freedom.
