Overseas Vietnamese are welcomed to visit homeland

Deputy Foreign Minister and Chairman of the State Commission for Overseas Vietnamese Vu Hong Nam received Nguyen Dac Thanh, an overseas Vietnamese in the US, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on October 26th.

At the meeting, on behalf of the leaders of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and SCOV, Mr. Vu Hong Nam expressed his pleasure to welcome Mr. Thanh on the occasion he visited the homeland. The Deputy Minister emphasized that the Party and State of Vietnam always respect and appreciate the sentiment towards the homeland, the origin and contributions of overseas Vietnamese to the cause of protection, construction and development of the nation. They are given favorable conditions to visit their relatives, invest, live and study in their homeland.

Recognizing Thanh's contributions to the solidarity of the Vietnamese community in the US, Vu Hong Nam hoped that he would continue to communicate so that overseas Vietnamese in the US understand the policies that the Government of Viet Nam has issued to support them to visit their relatives in their hometowns, work together towards a better future and connect them to their origin.

The Deputy Minister wished Thanh to have more active and practical activities in the coming time to direct young overseas Vietnamese generation so that they have national spirit and love the country.

Mr. Thanh affirmed that, in his capacity, he will continue to connect and promote the solidarity of overseas Vietnamese in the US as well as encourage them to make contributions to build Viet Nam.
