President the Viet Nam - ASEAN Association of Friendship and Cooperation Le Cong Phung said that the idea "ASEAN colors" illustrates the sincere good will of the Vietnamese people and people of ASEAN countries to build an ASEAN community based on 3-pillar and people-centered.
Over the past 50 years of establishment and development, ASEAN has proved to be a dynamic regional organization that is highly adaptable to changes in the world and regional context. The Association has become the home of all 10 member countries in Southeast Asia. The position and role of ASEAN in the international arena improves and ASEAN has been an important political and economic entity in Asia-Pacific and become an indispensable partner in the world, president Le Cong Phung stressed.
On behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, deputy Minister Nguyen Quoc Dung expressed his sincere thanks to the VUFO and the Viet Nam - ASEAN Association of Friendship and Cooperation. Over the past five decades, from a small organization, ASEAN has become a dynamic community for peace and common prosperity of the people. In order to achieve that success, apart from the efforts of the governments, ministries and branches of the ASEAN member countries, it is also the active contributions of friendship associations and people from other countries, including the Vietnamese people.
Philippine Ambassador to Viet Nam Noel Servigon said that as the Philippine representative, ASEAN Chairman in 2017, the Ambassador is happy to participate in most of the events organized by Viet Nam. On behalf of the ASEAN Ambassadors in Hanoi, Ambassador Noel Servigon thanked VUFO and the Viet Nam - ASEAN Association of Friendship and Cooperation for organizing this meaningful program. The Ambassador is inspired by the Vietnamese people's enthusiasm for the golden year of ASEAN 2017.
On the same day, the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO), the Viet Nam - ASEAN Association of Friendship and Cooperation and the Viet Nam - ASEAN Bilateral Friendship Associations co-organized the ASEAN Open Friendship Golf Tournament at the Sky Lake Golf Club with the participation of 100 golfers from the embassies of ASEAN, Japan, South Korea; and members of Vietnamese Ministries and businessmen of ASEAN countries. This is an opportunity to connect and promote exchanges, cooperation and investment of ASEAN businesses with each other and with developed economies in Asia such as Japan and Korea.
