On June 10th, the opening ceremony of the 10th Vietnam Festival is officially held in Yoyogi Park, Tokyo, Japan.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Nguyễn Quốc Cường said the festival The festival aims to strengthen mutual understanding between the two nations and bring Vietnamese people living in Japan closer together.
President of New Komeito Party Yamaguchi Natsuo took the occasion to highlight that the relations between Vietnam and Japan are growing in various fields such as politics, economics and culture.
The two-day event houses more than 120 pavilions, including food stalls. Visitors could taste Vietnamese traditional foods, buy handicraft products, and join an exhibition affirming Vietnam’s sovereignty over Paracel and Spratly archipelagos. Tourists will have the opportunity to enjoy cultural programmes and art performances as well.
The event is expected to attract 200,000 visitors in this year. The Vietnam Festival was first held in 2008 as part of the activities to celebrate the 35th founding anniversary of Vietnam-Japan diplomatic ties. Last year, the event saw 200,000 visitors, the highest ever.
