President of Vietnam – Cuba Friendship Association receives Chairman of Cuban National Assembly Esteban Lazo Hernandez

On June 13rd, Trương Thị Mai, Politburo member, Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee (CPVCC) and Head of the CPVCC’s Mass Mobilisation Commission, the President of Vietnam – Cuba Friendship Association receives Esteban Lazo Hernandez, Politburo member, Cuban National Assembly Chairman during his official visit to Vietnam.

In the meeting, on the behalf of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO), the Vietnam – Cuba Friendship Association, Trương Thị Mai expressed her pleasure and thanked the Cuban National Assembly Chairman for his visit. The Vietnam – Cuba Friendship Association, which received special interest of the Vietnam Party, State and the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations, includes 25 chapters in many localities throughout the country and regularly organizes the activities of people – to – people exchange, contributing to enhancing friendship, solidarity and cooperation between the two countries, she said.



Trương Thị Mai affirmed that she would do her best to boost the activities of the Association that contributes to the development of bilateral ties in the near future.

For his part,  Esteban Lazo Hernandez highly spoke the special interest of Vietnam for the bilateral relation and highlighted the role of the Vietnam Union of friendship organizations and the Vietnam – Cuba Friendship Association as a friendship home of the two peoples.

The two Associations should further strengthen the activities that promote solidarity and mutual cooperation and stable development, especially for educating young generation, he said.

After the meeting, the National Assembly Chairman and high-ranking delegation attended the Vietnam – Cuba Friendship exchange activity organized by VUFO and the Vietnam – Cuba Friendship Association.
