Cuban Ambassador Herminio Lopez diaz: “Vietnam - Cuba are forever brothers”
TĐO – On May 25th, Cuban delegation, led by Cuban Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Vietnam Herminio Lopez Diaz, held a meaningful friendship meeting in Tuyên Quang province on the occasion of the 56th anniversary of Hiron victory.

On May 25th, the Cuban delegation coordinated with Tuyên Quang province, Central Vietnam – Cuba Friendship Association, the Union of Tuyên Quang Friendship Organizations held a Vietnam – Cuba friendship meeting celebrating the 56th anniversary of Hiron anniversary. The event was solemn and cozy.
Vietnam and Cuba have a traditional friendship, comradeship and brotherhood which were built by President Hồ Chí Minh and President Fidel Castro and have been continuously developed by successive generations of leaders, the army and people of the two countries. The Party, Government and Vietnamese people will never forget the support and valuable help of Cuban people during the wartime to liberate the South and reunify the country, Vice President of Tuyên Quang People’s Committee Nguyễn Hải Anh said.
Nguyễn Hải Anh mentioned that 56 years ago on April 19th, 1961 the world witnessed an unprecedented event in the history of the American; the first time the US had to accept its military defeat, in the invasion of Cuba. Hiron Victory was a turning point to take the country forward on the path to socialism.
Anh expressed his respect for the achievement of economic and social developments in recent years and Cuban people would successfully implement the socio-economic development’s goals, firmly defend the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity.

On his part, Ambassador Herminio Lopez Diaz expressed his gratitude to the provincial leaders and he expressed his excitement about the great economic and social development of Tuyên Quang province. The experience of economic development in Tuyên Quang province and Vietnam will be studied for practical application by Cuba, he emphasized.
As an Ambassador, Herminio Lopez Diaz promised to be a bridge to connect friendship and cooperation between the two countries, especially Tuyên Quang province and Cuba, which have had many strengths to be cooperated in the near future. At the end of the speech, Herminio Lopez Diaz emphasized again “Cuban – Vietnamese people are family members”.
