Medical Committee Netherlands – Vietnam follows closely to support for Vietnam
(Vietpeace) On May 18th, the Vietnamese Ambassador to Netherlands Ngô Thị Hoà and the General Secretary of the Vietnam – Netherlands Friendship Association Phạm Thị Phương Nga discussed with Medical Committee Netherlands – Vietnam (MCNV) Director Guus Paarderkooper about co-operative promotion to celebration of 45 years of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the Netherlands which will be celebrated in 2018.

Ambassador Ngô Thị Hoà expressed her appreciation for MCNV technical and financial support addressing major challenges of Vietnam such as health and agriculture. Climate change such as extreme drought and natural disasters in Vietnam has a heavy impact on agriculture and food security, she stressed. The issue would require a joint approach and responsibility to deal with.
Phạm Thị Phương Nga affirmed that the Association is carrying out similar supporting activities in Vietnam and sharing many common goals with MCNV. Ambassador and General Secretary emphasized the significance of bilateral cooperation as well as the celebration of 50 years MCNV and 45 years of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the Netherlands which will be celebrated in 2018.
For his part, Guus Paarderkooper agreed to promote cooperation and pledged to support the Vietnam – Netherlands Friendship Association which would be as a bridge between the Netherlands and Vietnam to further relationship development in the future.
Since 1968, MCNV has always followed closely to support to Vietnam such as medical supplies, medicines in wartime, capacity building, anti-tuberculosis and malaria program after war. In addition, MCNV’s support includes livelihood, micro-credit for the poor, community health care in remote area in Vietnam.
