Participants included the Azerbaijan Ambassador to Vietnam Anar Imanov, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Vũ Hồng Nam and the Ambassadors, Representatives of the Embassies of other countries in Hanoi, Azerbaijan alumni and international friends.
Ambassador Anar Imanov made the remarks that the establishment of the Democratic Republic of Azerbaijan is the historical milestone. Azerbaijan has gained many achievements in various fields with enormous projects on energy, transportation and infrastructure promoted.
Imanov emphasized that bilateral relations has improved and brought mutual benefits, and Azerbaijan considered Vietnam as one of important partners in South East Asia. The state visits of the two Presidents in 2014 and 2015 has consolidated the friendship between the two countries, which promoted bilateral cooperation in many fields.
In addition, people-to-pople diplomacy between two countries is concerned and improved. The practical activities of the Vietnam – Azerbaijan Friendship Association and the Azerbaijan Cultural and Historical Research Center have played an crucial role in promoting mutual understanding.
Deputy Foreign Minister Vũ Hồng Nam congratulated the 99th anniversary of Azerbaijan Republic Day and he lauds Azerbaijan as a beautiful country with friendly and hospitable people. The friendship between the two countries has been nourished and nurtured by President Hồ Chí Minh and President Geidar Aliev as well as generations of leaders of both countries. The Vietnamese always remember and appreciate the Azerbaijan in the wartime, Nam said.
In 2017, Vietnam and Azerbaijan celebrate 25 years of diplomatic relations. Nam believed that multi-faceted cooperation between the two countries would be further strengthened, contributing to peace, security, stability, co-operation and development in the region and in the world.
After the ceremony, the invited guests enjoyed the banquet serving many Azerbaijani typical dishes.
