Participants at the ceremony were Prof., Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang, Member of the Party Central Committee, Party Secretary, Director of Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and Chairman of the Central Committee of the Viet Nam - China Friendship Association and Zhang Lianyou, Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Viet Nam. Nguyen Xuan Son, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council and Le Xuan Dai, Member of Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of Nghe An People's Committee and Chairman of the provincial Viet Nam - China Friendship Association also attended the ceremony.
Over 60 years of establishment and development, the Viet Nam - China Friendship Association of Nghe An province has became an important organization in the development of people-to-people 's diplomacy between Viet Nam in general, people in Nghe An province in particular and the Chinese people.
Appreciating the important achievements of the Association, Nguyen Xuan Thang expressed his hope that in the coming time, the Association will continue to boost measures to develop the Viet Nam – China relations, including the strengthening of friendship exchanges, proactively participating in the communication activities on the two countries’ ties, improving the quality of its organizations, and expanding exchange activities in association with enhancing the relations in the fields of economy, trade, culture and education, while actively participating in the propaganda to constantly enhance mutual trust, understanding and friendship between Nghe An and the Chinese people.
On this occasion, Nguyen Xuan Son, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council handed over a hanging of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Committee and Provincial Fatherland Front Committee to the Association.
In addition, the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations and Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations also awarded certificates of merit to the Assiciation and individuals in recognition of their dedicated services to promoting provincial people-to-people external affairs activities in the province.
