Dr. Bawar, Vice Principal of Chandigarh University, expressed his pleasure at receiving the delegation from Vietnamese delegation to visit and work at the school. He also briefed the guests on the development of Chandigarh University.
Dr. Bawar said that the friendship and cultural exchanges between the artists from Viet Nam and the students of Chandigarh University will create advantaged conditions for the young Chandigarh to know more about Viet Nam and the significant milestones of the long-standing co-operative relationship between Viet Nam and India, which will help students and people of India to understand more about Viet Nam - a beautiful country.
He expressed his hope that through the visit of the Vietnamese delegation, more and more students will interested in Chandigarh University in the future.
On behalf of the Vietnamese People's Delegation, Bui Khac Son thanked the Indian leaders, the Chandigarh City Government and the people of India for their solidarity, friendship and hospitality for the delegation in the past days.
He highlighted the Viet Nam - India relationship, which was founded by President Ho Chi Minh and Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru and fostered by generations of Vietnamese leaders and people, adding that the Party, State and people of Viet Nam always keep in mind the precious support of India people for Viet Nam during the past struggle for national liberation and the current cause of national construction and development.
This festival, with the participation of representatives of all classes of people, intellectuals, artists, especially students as well as members from many peace, solidarity and friendship member organizations of the two countries, will be an open and friendly exchange forum between Viet Nam and India. In the context of a complicated world, the Viet Nam – India traditional friendship will be upgraded and expand opportunities for exchanges ‘activities between young people in Viet Nam and young people in India in general, Chandigarh youth in particular.
On the afternoon of the same day, the delegation had a meeting with members of the Indian Communist Party in Chandigarh city and the distinguished intellectuals and people having common interest and affection for Viet Nam.
During the meeting, Indian friends recalled the support the communist parties and people of India for Viet Nam during the past struggle for national liberation and the current cause of national construction and development as well as deep sentiment for the late President Ho Chi Minh.
Son was delighted to meet the people, intellectuals and leaders of Chandigarh City, hoping that will offer a chance for both sides to discuss measures to boost relations between both sides’ people and their organizations, so as to bring bilateral agreements into practice. He informed the host about the economic, political and social situation of Viet Nam in the post-Reform period, particularly the combat against corruption, the relations between the country and its neighbors and people-to-people diplomacy of Viet Nam. The VUFO Vice President affirmed that anti-corruption and transparency are the top priorities of the Vietnamese Government in building and developing the country.
