"Denmark in your eyes 2017" painting competition launched

The painting competition themed "Denmark in your eyes – Draw the dream" for primary school students in Viet Nam was kick started in Ngoc Lam primary school on August 25 in 2017.

The "Denmark in your eyes - Draw the dream" competition co-organized by the Embassy of Denmark in Viet Nam and the Viet Nam - Denmark Friendship Association with support from the Ministry of Education and Training, Kim Dong Publishing House, Nhi Dong newspaper, LEGO Co. (Denmark) and Viet Tinh Anh Co. (Viet Nam).

Speaking at the ceremony, cultural counselor of the Danish embassy in Viet Nam, Ane Kirsten Andersen said: "The contest is a great playground for students to improve their creativity in aesthetic and imagination capacity. Concurrently, the competition plays a part in tightening the friendship and strengthening mutual understanding in culture between the Vietnamese and Danish people, especially the youngsters."

According to the organizing board, all candidates in Viet Nam who are primary students are eligible to participate in the contest. Contestants are required to submit their drawn picture which depicts the contestant's dream to the Viet Nam - Denmark Friendship Association, address: 7th floor, No. 105A, Quan Thanh str., Ba Dinh district, Hanoi, from August 25 - October 6. The awarding ceremony is scheduled in November.

The competition "Denmark in your eyes" was first launched in 2016, on occassion of the Viet Nam - Denmark 45th anniversary of diplomatic ties establishment.

Last year, the contest focused on English writing skill of the youngsters. The winner of the contest was a student of grade 9th in Hanoi, who was awarded a short study trip in Niels Brock business school in Copenhagen, Denmark.
