Shimla is a hospitable city with many ancient European - style buildings, such as the Christ Church, the Himachal State Gallery and Library, the Viceregal Lodge Castle, Himalayan Bird Park,... which are attractive and unique Indian tourist destinations.
Secretary General of the All India Peace and Solidarity Organization (AIPSO) Pallab Sengupta said that Shimla actively expressed the wish to host the 9th Viet Nam - India People’s Friendship Festival because of deep sentiment of Shimla people for the people of Viet Nam.
Secretary General of AIPSO Pallab Sengupta wishes the people of the two countries, especially the young generation, will maintain and nurture the bilateral relationship.
Bui Khac Son, Vice President of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) said that two delegates of both countries reviewed the traditions of solidarity, cooperation, support and mutual assistance and also introduced effective measures to promote and strengthen the bilateral relationship, contributing to the implementation of the joint agreements.
Son emphasized that Viet Nam and India have longstanding traditional friendship, founded by the President Ho Chi Minh and Prime Minister of India Pandid Jawaharlal Nehru and promoted to a comprehensive strategic partnership by the successive generations of leaders and people of the two countries.
Impressed by the economic, social development, especially Shimla tourism and Shimla's hospitality for the delegation, Vice President Bui Khac Son expected the youth of Viet Nam - India will have more connections and VUFO is willing to act as a bridge to further enhance mutual understanding and raise the bilateral relationship and the young generation of Viet Nam and India.
At the meeting, the representatives of the Indian Communist Party Marxist and Shimla Youth Union shared the sentiments, memories and understanding of the Vietnamese people and affirmed their support for Viet Nam with the slogan "Your name, my name, our name, Viet Nam! Viet Nam!” proving the growing relationship between the two countries and people of Viet Nam - India in general and Shimla – Viet Nam in particular.
