At the meeting, the Viet Nam - Laos Friendship Association President Tran Van Tuy conveyed good wishes and congratulations to the staff of the Lao Embassy in Viet Nam and the Lao students on the Lao traditional New Year festival.
The President is pleased with the great achievements of Lao people under the leadership of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party in all fields, political stability, economic growth as well as cultural, educational and health development. Besides Lao’s per capita income rises and people's living standards are improved. All these achievements help to increase the position and prestige of Laos in the region and in the international arena.
Tran Van Tuy thanked for the cooperation and assistance of the Lao Embassy and former Vietnamese volunteers in Laos. In the coming time, the Viet Nam - Laos Friendship Association will continue its efforts to carry out many meaningful activities to contribute to reinforcing the traditional friendship between the two countries.
Speaking at the meeting, Lao Ambassador Thongsavanh Phomvihane thanked the Association for organizing this meaningful meeting.
Activities held during the Viet Nam - Laos Friendship and Solidarity Year 2017 have helped educate youths on the close relationship between the two countries and have raised their awareness of the responsibility to preserve and promote the special ties, he noted.
