The Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) and the Vietnam – Africa Friendship & Cooperation Association (VAFCA) have organized a field trip for African diplomats in Vietnam to visit the northern province of Hai Duong on June 10 on the occasion of the African Day.
Ambassadors and officials from embassies of African countries in Hanoi, including Algeria, Angola, Egypt, Libya, Morocco, Mozambique, Nigeria and South Africa, have joined the trip, accompanied by Mr. Nguyen Duong Thai, Standing Vice Chairman of Hai Duong People’s Committee, Ms. Tran Thi Xuan Oanh, Deputy Director of VUFO’s Asia and Africa Department as well as members of VAFCA.
Mr. Thai briefed the delegation on the current social and economic development in Hai Duong province and said the province was looking forward to welcoming cooperation with African countries in all fields, particularly agriculture.
On behalf of the diplomatic corp of African countries in Vietnam, Algerian Ambassador Cherif Chikhi thanked Hai Duong provincial government, VUFO and VAFCA for organizing a meaningful trip. He said Vietnam and Africa hold important economic potential that should be exploited for further fruitful partnerships in the future.
Diplomats also visited Chu Dau ceramic factory and lychee farms in Thanh Son commune, Thanh Ha district.
