In a meeting with Vu Mao, Chairman of the Vietnam – Cambodia Friendship Association (VCFA), on June 17 in Hanoi, Mrs. Men Sam An highly appreciated the current activities carried out by VCFA, especially its sponsor program for the Cambodian students studying in Vietnam, which has made meaningful contribution to the enhancement of mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples.
Mr. Vu Mao said VCFA will focus its future work on friendship exchanges, particularly between the young peoples and localities in the two countries. A delegation of around 60 members, including VCFA members, veterans and their children along with some Vietnamese companies, is scheduled to visit Cambodia later this year.
Mrs. Men Sam Am stressed that VCFA and CVFA have witnessed a good long-standing relationship, having built a friendship bridge between the two governments and the peoples. She expressed hope that the two associations would continue to work closely for implementing various projects and programs in order to strengthen the relationship between the peoples of the two countries.
Taking this opportunity, Mr. Vu Mao recalled the memory about King Norodom Sihanouk. He asked the CVFA to kindly rearrange to republish three memoirs written by Queen Norodom Monineath about the return to Cambodia by King Norodom Sihanouk and the Queen, which were first released in 1973. The memoirs contain vivid reflections on the friendship between Vietnam and Cambodia, the VCFA chairman said.
