In recent weeks, the fighting situation in the Palestinian Gaza Strip has been more and more fierce. Tens of thousands of innocent civilians, especially women and children, has become direct victims of the wave of violence. Bloody conflict and violence have claimed the lives of nearly 600 people and injured thousands of others, mostly women and children. More than 100,000 Palestinians have fled from their homes due to escalating battle. The image of dead bodies of women and children in the streets and wounded people in hospitals is now a daily stories in the Gaza Strip. The fierce fighting has taken future of many children, seriously encroaching on peace, security and human rights in the region and the world.
The Vietnam Committee for Solidarity with Palestinian People, the Vietnam Committee for Asian-African-Latin American Solidarity and Cooperation, the Vietnam Peace and Development Foundation, and the Vietnam Peace Committee energetically condemn the use of armed force against civilians in the Gaza Strip, and call upon all parties concerned to immediately end all uses of armed force, discontinue bombings in Gaza, and enter into negotiations for a radical solution of the conflict. We also call on all parties to abide by international law and cooperate with the international community for a prompt restoration of peace and stability in the region.
On this occasion, The Vietnam Committee for Solidarity with Palestinian People, the Vietnam Committee for Asian-African-Latin American Solidarity and Cooperation, the Vietnam Peace and Development Foundation, and the Vietnam Peace Committee would like to express solidarity and profound condolences to the people of Gaza over their sufferings and losses as well as expectations for peace to be restored in the region; reiterate our solidarity with and support for the legitimate national aspirations of the Palestinian people.
