Vietnamese officials honoured with Cambodia’s Royal Order of Sahametrei
(Vietpeace) Cambodia has conferred a honoured order to Vietnamese officials for their contributions to Cambodia’s development.
President Vu Xuan Hong of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations (VUFO) and five members of the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association (VCFA) were awarded Cambodia’s Royal Order of Sahametrei in a ceremony on September 5 in in Hanoi.
Present at the ceremony were Chan Chea, State Secretary of the Kingdom of Cambodia, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Cambodia to Vietnam H.R Hul Phany, VUFO staff and the VCFA management board.
Along with VUFO’s President Vu Xuan Hong, VCFA’s Chairman Vu Mao, Chairman Dao Xuan Can and Vice Chaiman Nguyen Hai Giang of the Vietnam Union of Corporations, Deputy Secretary of the Vietnam National Buddhist Shangha Most Venerable Thich Duc Thien and VCFA Deputy Secretary General Ly Quang Bich also received the Order.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ambassador Hul Phany emphasized the recognition of the order recipients’s contributions to bridging and maintaining friendship between the two countries’ peoples.
On behalf of the Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Cambodia - Vietnam Friendship Association, Ambassador Hul Phany expressed his profound gratitude to the Party, the state and people of Vietnam, VUFO and VCFA for their help to restoring and developing Cambodia. He also recalled valuable assistance of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts in saving Cambodians from the genocidal catastrophe.
“These Cambodia’s Royal Orders of Sahametrei belong to the people of Vietnam, the Communist Party of Vietnam and the volunteer soldiers, who sacrificed their lives, in fighting and working for Cambodia. The Vietnam – Cambodia Friendship Association commits to further strengthening solidarity, friendship and cooperation with Cambodian people for the cause of good neighborhood, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation and long-term sustainability of the two countries,” VCFA Chairman Vu Mao said at the ceremony.
