Chinese and Vietnamese peace organizations to strengthen ties

The Chinese Peoples’s Association for Peace and Disarmament (CPAPD) held a reception with Deputy Chairman Uong Chu Luu of Vietnam’s National Assembly on October 22 in Hanoi during a visit to Vietnam on October 21-25.

Headed by its Deputy General Secretary Tao Tao, the CPAPD’s visit is aimed at strengthening the long cooperation between the association and its Vietnamese partner, the Vietnam Peace Committee (VPC).

At the reception, Mr. Luu, who is also a member of the Vietnam Communist Party’ Central Committee and President of Vietnam Peace Committee (VPC) reaffirmed Vietnam’s desire in enhancing the comprehensive strategic partnership with China towards stability and long-term development. He praised the time-honored relations between the two organizations, which have greatly contributed to promoting the traditional friendship between the peoples of Vietnam and China.

At the earlier fruitful talks, VPC Vice President Pham Van Chuong hoped VPC and CPAPD, as well as other mass organizations and agencies, will contribute to the implementation of the agreements between leaders of the two Parties and countries. Accordingly, maritime disputes in the East Sea should be settled by peaceful means to maintain peace and stability in the region and the world.

CPAPD delegation also paid a courtesy visit to leaders of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations and had meetings with the Vietnam- China Friendship Association and the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organisations.
