Attending were Mr. Vu Xuan Hong, President of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO); Mr. Hoang Dan Mac, Chairman of the Phu Tho People’s Committee; Mr. Vi Trong Le, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Phu Tho People’s Council; Mr. Ha Ke San, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Phu Tho People’s Council; Mr. Tran Phu Tieu, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairman of the Phu Tho Fatherland Front; representatives from the provincial departments and agencies; and representatives of VUFO’s departments….
At the convention, Mr. Tran Phu Tieu made a report on the process of advocacy for establishment of the Phu Tho Union of Friendship Organization. The convention approved PTUFO’s working plan for the 2013-2018 tenure and its draft Statutes.
Addressing at the convention, Mr. Vu Xuan Hong highly appreciated the outcomes of PTUFO’s convention. He also gave orientations for PTUFO’s operation in the 2013 – 2018 tenure in order to promote PTUFO’s role in people-to-people diplomacy.
Mr. Vi Trong Le expected that PTUFO will have positive contributions to people-to-people diplomacy, consolidate and develop its organization, contribute to raising the local people’s awareness, enhance dissemination of external information and popularize the image of the province. The convention elected a 23 - member Executive Board. Mr. Tran Phu Tieu was elected PTUFO Chairman for the 2013-2018 tenure./.
