Present at the event were Vu Xuan Hong, President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO), H.E Jun Dae Joo, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Vietnam, Chairman Ho Xuan Hung of the Vietnam Association of Agriculture and Rural Development, representatives of KRC, VUFO and local media.
Speaking at the event, President Hong highly appreciated Lee Sang Mu’s contribution to the development of Vietnam’s agricultural sector and rural areas as well as to promoting the friendly and cooperative relations between peoples of the two countries.
The agricultural sector of Vietnam, where around 70 percent of the population resides in rural areas with a low-living standard, still needs much support from foreign friends. Hong hopes RoK will further assist Vietnam to modernize its agriculture and develop poor rural areas.
Mr. Lee Sang Mu shared his gratitude in receiving Vufo’s Medal for Peace and Friendship and affirmed his happiness in devoting in the development of Vietnam. “I will do my best to strengthen friendship and cooperation between the two countries’ peoples, particularly in the field of agricultural cooperation,” he said.
