Mr Luong Phan Cu reported the results of VUFA’s operations in the 2008-2012 period and the work plan for the 2013-2018 tenure.
In the 2008 - 2013 tenure, VUFA made great efforts in its operations, and contributed to strengthening friendship and cooperation relations between the peoples of Vietnam and Uzbekistan
In the next tenure, VUFA will expand its networks of friends and partners; creatively organize diversified activities in connection to promotion of economic cooperation, trade, culture, education, art, tourism ...; to attract new members, especially the youth... The Congress elected a 55-member Executive Board and a Supervisory Committee. Mr Luong Phan Cu was re-elected Chairman of VUFA.
Speaking at the event, Mr Vu Xuan Hong appraised the achievements of VUFA’s Executive Board in the 2008-2013 tenure, congratulated the new Executive Board. He believed that VUFA will uphold its achievements, continue to contribute to strengthening friendship, cooperation relations between the two peoples.
On behalf of VUFO, Mr Vu Xuan Hong awarded Certificate of Merit to VUFA for its effective contributions to the development of friendship relations between the two nations, “For the Peace, Friendship among Nations” medals to 6 outstanding members.
Before the Congress, VUFA in collaboration with VUFO hold a get-together to celebrate the Vietnam’s National Day (Sept. 2) and the Uzbekistan’s Independence Day (Sept. 1).
